Thanks, jimd1981! I know I was reading to much into it (MPA and motorcycles) but I had to ask.

Breny414 wrote:As the othe posters have said, under the MPA you are not required to declare that you have a weapon when stopped if you are not a CHL holder. If asked, I would certainly tell the officer. But if you decide to voluntarily disclose the fact, I have been informed to be very careful of the language you use... i.e., probably shouldn't say "I have a gun," as that can be misheard or misunderstood, and have bad consequences.
The law only requires that a CHL/LTC holder show both their ID and CHL/LTC if they are carrying their handgun. It does not require them to declare whether or not they have a handgun and since many show both IDs regardless of whether they are carrying or not, showing both does not imply the presence of a handgun.

So it appears my son would be legal in having his "new x-mas present (Sig P320 compact) while traveling on Texas roads (concealed) until he's able to get his LTC. Anybody know anything about Louisiana, he ( my son) drives to Homa La from Katy Tx & would you know if he would be legal under same circumstances, just traveling to work? No LTC & concealed in car, not on himself.
