This all sounds like a moot point to me as nothing is posted, so I'm not really sure why there's an issue at all. Their policy means nothing… No signs = no problem.

Even if it was posted, the mode of transportation really doesn't change anything.

I'm with the guys above - you're pointing out a problem, but you're making a stink that might cause an undesired impact... It's a valid question, I'm not sure you'll get the desired results.

Near my home, they put up a large high-school. That high-school is on the main ingress/egress road to two small communities. The road now has a school zone. Technically, anyone carrying under MPA without a CHL is probably breaking the law as they travel to and from their home due to the federal gun-free school zone act.

So I called them on the fact that they cannot prevent residents from taking firearms to/from their vehicle, and this was the response. Talking heads. I'm not going to push it anymore - and they don't know who I am - but thought you all would like to see this. Sitting on their high horse thinking they can infringe on my rights...

Here is what they said...
"I apologize for the confusion but our policy is the answer to your question. We do not allow possession of any weapon on our property, whether concealed or displayed openly, other than licensed weapons carried by law enforcement personnel. You will need to reach out to your specific apartment management office regarding their policies but ours remains unchanged."

Again...

If it's not posted, what is the problem? Why did you ask in the first place?

They're just going to go on quoting that mantra, because that's what a lawyer has told them to say. Besides the point that there are no "licensed weapons", they're ignorant of what the law says - they just know what their lawyer has told them to say.

As others have mentioned - don't kick over cans that you don't want to know what's under them. You do yourself (nor anyone else) any favors when "pointing out muddy waters for them". Let them find out on their own when one of their tenants takes them to court.

Maybe they've provided an easy-out for any lease?

I guess the robbery at gun point by three dirt bags at Ben Bridge in Barton Creek Mall (a Simon Mall) last week did not happen... Because it is obvious that their no gun policy would stop the criminals from having guns.
