Used to ride (somewhat competitively) back in college on the UNT cycling team, had a ball, lost weight, etc....still have the mountain bike...ride it, sometimes.
Last year wife and I were coming home from work and saw a cyclist (in full regalia) walking next to his bike, pulled up and asked if he needed help, he sure did, broke a crank or some such, offered to give him a lift home in Keller (about 20 minutes one way from where we were), he put his bike in the back of our truck and hopped in the crew cab. Small talk ensued, he moved here from Yankeeland, he gave me directions to his destination, he wanted to be dropped off at a "safe" place...a local school, he said he would walk home from there....I just kind of chuckled at him...."Pardner, we're in the South."
