The Luger could be $2000+. You need to take it to an expert...

Re: Any Luger collectors?
Grips could be made of Galalith. They loved that stuff in Germany in the WWI era. And apparently were using it for pistol grips as an alternative to wood grips. The Galalith was apparently very brittle so sometimes they would coat a wood grip in galalith to be stronger than a 100% galalith grip. full disclosure: I know nothing about Lugers and just found all of this information by a google search.Lena wrote:Luger possibly ivory grips

I will have an inspection on the Luger Thursday, so far found it is a WW1 era police or possible military officers pistol, all verified matching numbers at 95% condition except grips. proof marks 100%, bore 98%.

Re: Any Luger collectors?
Beruity thanks for the info, the Luger sold for $1500, the other guns, swords, knives also sold very well.
Also today found some 1933 and 43 9mm boxed with runes on box and head stamped on the 43. The Luger was verified all matching but the grips. Also got 1 heck of an offer in my S&W 5 screw 44, which is not for sale.
