Maybe some reverse marketing for them then. Post the signage on your new lot with the statement that CalAtlantic does not choose to recognize your rights as a Home Owner or potential client and if you must carry you can shop with Lenar.

Update. Not that I'm saying who did this (wasn't me, but I know who), but somebody complained to the developer/HOA. That somebody pointed out that such signs were NOT ALLOWED per HOA guidelines.

Apparently, CalAtlantic decided that they would execute a "controlled retreat" and are now marketing this as "Removing signs in certain areas as a 'test market'"

So, now we have two stumps where 30.06 and 30.07 signs used to be. That was a short life :)

As long as everybody plays by the same rules, right? A well played win by somebody. Congrats.

Finally an HOA does something positive!

That's great news, BTW.

My wife and I were looking recently to build and CalAtlantic/Ryland was NOT on our list because of this thread.

We went with Milestone Homes - and our sales agent even admitted herself that she carries. (I think she might have seen my shirt blow up when meeting her on a windy day.)

Please go out of your way to tell them that through their feedback channels! Especially tell them that if you found a CalAtlantic home that you would have preferred over your actual choice.

Just to be clear (and I think everybody understands), I put my money down when they were Ryland (a builder with a great reputation), and I LOVE how my home design has worked out. Had those signs been up when I first visited, I wouldn't have put my money down. That being said, I love the work they have done and how efficient they are (this is my fourth home to build, but the first one that has moved along with any significant hitches so far!).
