Indeed, this is very good news. Women are a fast-growing segment of new gun owners as well as licensees. I bet the percentage for 2016 will end up even higher, based upon the number of women in my LTC classes and in other instructors' classes. Cluba/organizations like A Girl and a Gun League and the NRA's creation of programs and activities specifically for women are helping, but I believe the primary motivation is self-defense.
Chas.
1) I know I'm not telling you anything you don't already know but women are an important demographic to fighting the antigun movement before us.
2) As a father with two daughters, I love seeing the fairer sex refuse to be a victim.

Have to say that for once it feels good to be a "number". Usually not the case.

That was done in 2013.
Chas.
That is the reason I fear for our younger folks, especially if they only get their news from network news or on line, there is so much misinformation that
it's hard to disseminate the information, especially when the majority of reporters don't take the time to get the facts, and then their stories are repeated as gospel.

Back when FL was leading the charge, it was a great license to have because it was accepted in so many places. For me, both NC (old home) and TX (new home). Now FL and TX are about equal as far as reciprocity. TX has an advantage in that it's a "home state" license so it's accepted in places like CO where a non-res permit is not honored.
I'm holding my FL renewal packet in my hand right now.
Renewal fee is $60, plus another $42 for out of state residents. $102.
I'm not renewing FL this year. I picked up AZ instead. At $60 for a new license and only $43 for renewal, it's cheaper than FL and it adds NV to my list of states. Vegas Baby!

Now you can congratulate an owner who posts for their business doing so well they can afford to tell
one million customers to take their business elsewhere.

The NYT article granting credit to a certain open carry figurehead for the LTC changes is pretty grating.
