Now I'm wondering just what it would be that this person would be unfit to do in this position that could be dangerous to others that there aren't checks and balances for. She seems to seeking help and is probably on medication of various kinds to also help. As mentioned, her position is an elected one, but on what grounds exactly could she be removed?

I have no idea about her ability to own or purchase a firearm. I would bet that she would not be because of various medications that she might be taking and rely upon.

Unless she's been "adjudicated" mentally defective, she should have no problem purchasing a firearm/passing the NICS check. Adjudicated means by a court or sometimes an administrative body, not the press or popular opinion. :rules:
