If I only have a short time, I can still shoot and not have to clean it until later or next day. And when I finish my range work, the CC gun goes back into the holster, clean and ready.

I still keep pairs of the plastic guns.

Same for me. G17 gets stored, other G17 comes out for training. End of training, G17 get stored, other G17 comes out for carry. Both are set up the exact same way. Plus if I do have to use it, and the police take it. I have a car/nightstand gun that is exactly the same.

I'm curious as to why you want to have duplicates of the two guns. I hesitate to ask though since I do not need another excuse to buy more guns.

Interchangeable parts. Two is one, one is none. I'd rather know how to shoot two pistols really well than have 4 or 5 different ones..at least until I can afford more than two of each of the first ones!

That makes sense. I do something similar for my AR's by keeping a couple spare LPK's around at all times.
