I just informed The Annoyed Woman of this article, because ingesting cocoa flavonoids is one of her favorite things in life. We decided that perhaps a cuppa-joe, with a squirt of Nestle's Chocolate syrup and a shot of Kalua in it, would be a good post-prandial practice.
Have her try some Drillaud Dark Cacoa liqueur. You can find it at Spec's. :tiphat:

The article stated the beneficial flavanols were destroyed in the normal processing of cocoa beans. Mars, Inc created the beverage used in the study so as to preserve the flavanols.
Another example of why I wished Mars was a publicly held company.
