No that would require an admission of ignorance. The Media can't let themselves do that, even though they have more egg on their face from the last election, than they will be able to clean off with an industrial power washer. They just keep trying to find a story that will frighten the uninformed, and they still believe that they can say anything and it will be believed. Unfortunately, they still have enough snowflakes in their target audience, even in balmy Florida.

This actually makes a lot of sense, IMHO. Kind of like the "motor voter" laws in a lot of states. Just check a box on your form 4473, to have it sent to the state agency for issuance of a license.

This would be meeting in the middle on constitutional carry. Background check required, but no training or education requirement. Just like getting your voter registration card.

I need to see evidence of this fishing license/boat loophole. I was under the impression that since I don't have a fishing license that the only way for me to buy a boat was from a boat show.

This was the worst news story I have ever seen. I am trying to figure out what did every state do before CHL was implemented. How all of sudden when CHL became mainstream that there was a flaw in purchasing a firearm.

I remember years ago, seeing a long gun or a shotgun in the back window of a pickup truck was like having a cell phone. No one gave it a second thought...

Take the missing health warnings on soda pop, and if you don't know the danger, you are fooling yourself.

I drank rum and coke once, in large quantity since they are both approved substances. The next morning I had a heckofa headache. Something was wrong. I felt I had a medical emergency on my hands (and on the floor surrounding the well of porcelain experience).

The next night I was wiser. I drank large quantities of bourbon and coke, again relying on the government's oversight of consumer goods - and the same thing happened!

Never again, never, never, never. I've sworn off of coke. Fool me twice and I'll yak in the punch bowl, but it's not going to happen a third time. No coke for me.

I think I'll contact that reporter and see what she can do with a coke exposé. The public should be warned.

He told us to put a steak with a bone in it into a container of coke and after a while there would only be bone left. Never tried it, but I did cook a steak and put it on a plate, sure enough it wasn't long before there was only bone left.

People use coke to clean up battery acid. Watching it eat that stuff up is a powerful image. Of course, I still drink ALOT of coke. I just feel more guilty knowing the impact it has on my insides.

I went and read the original article. It appeared to me that Ms. Polansky went through the process of getting a carry license and wanted to find the story related to that experience. The first part of the article discussing how licensees don't equal buyers felt grafted on to the second part of the article discussing the process of getting her license. Apparently Florida applications have to be submitted in person by appointment? Sounds overly bureaucratic.

I encourage her to continue to practice her reporting and writing skills. Clearly they still need some work. Congratulations on her getting her plastic. I think every woman should be armed if they so desire.

My wife went to school for journalism. When she graduated and was working in the newspaper business, her editor said,

"I originally wanted to be a teacher, but my dad told me, 'do you see how much teachers make, don't be a teacher, you'll never make it in life.'

So after I graduated and got my first job, I showed my dad my salary and he said, 'you should have been a teacher'."

Her sage advice to my wife was this - if you want to be a journalist, marry an engineer.
