Re: I have to vent a little
I don't blame the OP for taking the call from his wife, if it had been someone else, I'm sure he would have ignored it. But, a lot can happen when separated from your spouse, at a gun show with large numbers of people. I know my wife becomes very insistent, when she calls, and I don't answer, that's why I have tried to tell her if it's not critical, please just text me the info, or question. That is very subjective however, and getting what I assume to be an urgent call, sometimes turns out to be not so much.

Take away the Second first, and the First is gone in a second

iPhones have that feature as well.mojo84 wrote:I also have a feature on my android phone that allows me to decline/ignore the call and send an automatic text message to the caller that tells them I unavailable at the moment and will return the call as soon as possible. If there is an emergency, call me again or send a text.
That way, I can tend to both without interrupting what I have going on while acknowledging the caller.

And what is worse, she had one of my credit cards and there was a craft show next door that was included in the admission priceJusme wrote:I don't blame the OP for taking the call from his wife, if it had been someone else, I'm sure he would have ignored it. You didn't mention it was an actual emergency.RPBrown wrote:And what is worse, she had one of my credit cards and there was a craft show next door that was included in the admission priceJusme wrote:I don't blame the OP for taking the call from his wife, if it had been someone else, I'm sure he would have ignored it. Think about this with a little role reversal: your wife has just negotiated a good deal on a {holster, pair of shoes, new car, handbag...etc}, you called her about the great deal you found on a Redhawk, and while on the phone some other gal absconded with the {holster, pair of shoes, new car, handbag...etc}. Whose fault would it be that she got snookered? EXACTLY.
So clearly your wife owes you a new Ruger Red Hawk.

It was a sly, rude move by the buyer to sneak in for the purchase while your back was turned. However, it's self centered to think that the world should just stop so you can take a phone call, if only for 2 minutes.
I've sold vehicles by first come, first serve. I don't care if you are on the way. First person to put cash in my hand gets the car.

The the infamous gun show loophole...Soccerdad1995 wrote:I think OP mentioned that it was a private sale, so no 4473. Flea markets are first come/first served & cash is king. How long does it take to fill out a 4473, show your LTC and pay?

A great learning thread!
My cell phone is a tool to be used at my convenience, it is not the center of my being. The next time a sales person, cashier, Maitre D', etc., takes a phone call while I'm waiting in front of them will be when I put on, "...these boots are made for walkin'...." and this stuff is for you to put back on the shelf....or wherever.
