I don't blame the OP for taking the call from his wife, if it had been someone else, I'm sure he would have ignored it. But, a lot can happen when separated from your spouse, at a gun show with large numbers of people. I know my wife becomes very insistent, when she calls, and I don't answer, that's why I have tried to tell her if it's not critical, please just text me the info, or question. That is very subjective however, and getting what I assume to be an urgent call, sometimes turns out to be not so much. :confused5

That way, I can tend to both without interrupting what I have going on while acknowledging the caller.
iPhones have that feature as well.

And what is worse, she had one of my credit cards and there was a craft show next door that was included in the admission price :biggrinjester:

You didn't mention it was an actual emergency.

Think about this with a little role reversal: your wife has just negotiated a good deal on a {holster, pair of shoes, new car, handbag...etc}, you called her about the great deal you found on a Redhawk, and while on the phone some other gal absconded with the {holster, pair of shoes, new car, handbag...etc}. Whose fault would it be that she got snookered? EXACTLY.

So clearly your wife owes you a new Ruger Red Hawk.

It was a sly, rude move by the buyer to sneak in for the purchase while your back was turned. However, it's self centered to think that the world should just stop so you can take a phone call, if only for 2 minutes.

I've sold vehicles by first come, first serve. I don't care if you are on the way. First person to put cash in my hand gets the car.

I think OP mentioned that it was a private sale, so no 4473. The other guy would have to be VERY quick on the draw to do a full 4473 before OP finished his call.
The the infamous gun show loophole...

A great learning thread!

My cell phone is a tool to be used at my convenience, it is not the center of my being. The next time a sales person, cashier, Maitre D', etc., takes a phone call while I'm waiting in front of them will be when I put on, "...these boots are made for walkin'...." and this stuff is for you to put back on the shelf....or wherever.
