That is just SOP, by law, they can't identify a juvenile suspect, unless he has been certified to stand trial as an adult. For this he will be charged in Juvenile family court for either delinquent behavior, or Child in need of supervision. Sounds really serious huh?

I'm sure the investigating officers know whether or not, the victim, has his LTC. They are just not divulging that info to the public.

IIRC, didn't the original article state that the juvenile was "Armed" when he attempted the robbery? If so, think this should go to adult unless, perhaps, he was only 12 or 13. I hear about far to many 16 and 17 year olds getting away with too much.

Have seen a number at high school students who should have been charged with assault and battery and even aggravated assault that only get "in school suspension" because the school district doesn't want to get the PD involved nor the bad publicity for the school. I am not talking about the after school fights that we had when I was in HS in the 60s that were usually just a fist fight between (usually) two evenly matched boys (hence, mutually agreed use of force), but gang beat downs, assaults on teachers.....

I agree, but even Aggravated Robbery, seldom gets the thug certified as an adult. Usually, it has to involve Murder, manslaughter, etc. Unless, this is a pattern, and he has done this in the past. There was also no mention of his gun being recovered, which may also be something they have not divulged, but if no gun is found, then it may just come down to the testimony of the jogger. There will be more info as the case unfolds, I'm sure they are only giving scant details, while they try to find his accomplice, determine what, if any role the woman who picked him up played etc..

I do hope that what ever happens, he gets, the maximum allowable sentence, but my faith in the juvenile justice system, is pretty low. That's why there are so many thugs walking the streets still committing crimes, because there were no consequences for them as juveniles.

It's a shame the Texas legislature passed a law to protect armed robbers from being identified, but they can't bother to pass a law elimiting the restrictions on where we can carry to protect ourselves from armed robbers.
