It does, but I've done a lot to it to make it just right. Talon grips, TFO sights, extended slide release, and a completely reworked trigger have made me very happy with my G19.

It's not the gun itself that does it; it's the right to carry one as I see fit that makes me happy.

Happiness is in part a choice that we make, and I was a generally happy person before I ever moved to Texas or got my CHL and was able to enjoy my right to bear arms. Psalm 100 is just 5 verses long. I'm glad that I am able to carry gun, but I don't need to carry a gun to be happy, anymore than carrying a fire extinguisher would make me happy.

Yes, a gun is a tool, but there is a cultural, historical, political, and familial (i.e., connection to Dad) aspect of a gun that makes it special. My gun collection is not like my wrench set.

A clothing analogy: Cowboy hats and boots have a practical purpose, but that is not why I enjoy wearing them.

I will be Happy if I can carry a full auto modem version of AN-94 with zero recoil an/or 2 shots in a single cycle without being called the T. word.

Kind of how I feel. Almost hard to describe. Not happy but the feeling of being prepared to protect my family does make me feel good and less worried about being a let to fulfill that duty than if I wasn't armed.

Having a good self defense tool, knowing how and understanding when to use it, and being willing to use it. I have purpose. Having purpose mskes me happy.

Dittos. Well, except my guitar has threatened to leave me for lack of attention since I took up firearms upon moving to Texas last year.

My carry gun makes me happy. It turns 34 years old soon. It seems to be aging better than I am. That does not make me happy.

To add a "new" happy to this thread, my carry gun "makes me happy" when I glance down at my holster at night and see my tritium sights glowing back.

I spent Sunday helping a friend and picking up others at airport to save them parking fees carried dad's Swenson 1911 in an older Seventrees Holster, got several "WOW's" Dad was on my side yesterday, today back to Glock32 as usual.
I have a picture of 3 of us with 1911's--- Hoag, Kings Gunworks & Armend Swenson 1911's. Yes I am proud of it!
