I would recommend either Springfield or Kimber in a heartbeat. I own and carry one of each ("Thane Custom" Springfield Champion and Kimber Ultra Eclipse), and both shoot incredibly well. I was making bottles dance at 25 yards with the Springer the other day, and the Kimber's just as accurate. Both are one-hole guns at 7 yards, if I'm paying attention (which is rarely

).
I have no experience with Para-Ord. I was quite taken with their "normal" WartHawg, until I picked one up... ugh, that thing's blocky. Their single-stacks seem well-made, but I've never been taken with their Light Double Action triggers.

You might want to note that Bud's Gun Shop lists the Kimber for $679 and the Para for $670 (the Para is the alloy one); those prices do not include the shipping ($25, I think) or FFL fee. If you don't know about Bud's, see
http://www.budsgunshop.com/. I don't have any axe to grind with Bud's. I just hate to see people pay more than necessary. On new guns, it's generally the case that Bud's price plus shipping plus FFL fee is less than the local price plus sales tax, sometimes by quite a bit.

Jwp:
I'm a
big fan of Bud's Gun Shop

, and I've purchased three pistols from them (H&K USP9C/USP45, and Sig P226 Navy). Gurney at Bud's is the guy I like to deal with, and he's always taken good care of me. Plus, I love the flexibility of their financing option (90 days/same as cash/no pymts./no int.), this allows me to get what I want fast and pay the gun off over two or three pay cycles.
I say check Bud's out
first for your gun needs. If you don't see an item listed on their website, give 'em a call, they've got
a lot of stuff that they don't
and/or can't advertise on the web. Sig recently gave them grief because their prices were significantly lower than Sig's MSRP.
