If your neighbors have such big mouths, then it should be a slamdunk for the Narcs.

Contact APD Narcotics division. The APD is a pretty good PD.

You can also request the APT Manager to get you a new apt.

Without bombarding me with two-dozen posts about the legality of flashing or intentionally not concealing, tell me what ya'll think about people (specifically in my type of situation) who do their best to "make it known", if you will, that they own/have/carry/use/etc. firearms of some sort. I am NOT saying I did this or would do it, I'm just curious. I discussed the situation with my dad, and he said if there were ever an issue to leave that _____ gun alone. It was one of perhaps three times I've ever heard him use that word, and I knew he meant business. He has his CHL but I think wanted to clarify that unless I were being attacked or mine/my gf's home was being broken into, there would be no reason to have a gun involved; simply to avoid dangerous escalation of the situation. I think he's on the ball there, because isn't that the core idea of most CHL classes? That it is our right to carry a gun but that its use should be a LAST resort? Thoughts...?
I like total concealment, as I like to have the advantage of surprise. Its usually to your advantage for the BG's to think that you are just another sheeple.

Does your gf shoot? If not a range trip might be in order

She has not before, but recently has taken interest in learning. She doesn't really care one way or the other about guns, but would like to learn to shoot my XD.

I sent you a private message about neighbor situations, as I've been in a couple. Don't know if you got it, but PM me if you want some info.

We have had drug dealers on our block. They eventually got busted. New ones will probably move in at some point.

Honestly, if we moved every time we spotted undesirable neighbors, we'd have to live in a motor home.

The only difference between good and bad neighborhoods is the frequency of this kind of activity, and how visible it is. Brentwood is a pretty high-rent town, and look at the headlines coming from there.

Well, even drug dealers (with their big money rolls) like nice places :)

That's quite often the first step to developing a true interest in having her own gun, whether or not she ultimately decides to get a CHL.

I don't know if I've told this story before, but if I have, it's in an old thread. During one of the Thunder Ranch courses my wife and I were taking, we noticed a very quiet lady who was all business on the range. She was friendly off the range, but during the drills, she was deadly serious. The instructors noticed it too and one of them talked to her during a lull in the range drills. He made a statement something like "I've noticed you are taking this training very seriously and that's great. Is there some secret you can tell me to get others as committed to learning?" She turned, looked him in the eye and said "I was raped in front of my teenage daughters, then I was beaten nearly to death. During the beating, he told me he was going to do the same thing to my daughters. That will never happen again." She then turned back toward the targets and got back into the drills.

The instructor was impressed -- so was I.

Chas.
