Here's another school of thought on making it obvious you're carrying: You're the first one the bad guy shoots, thus it's to your advantage not to advertise you may be packing.
Plus, bumper stickers or other forms of pro gun signage on your vehicle make it more a target for a break in, after all, your vehicle may be a gold mine of weapons.
Sure, pride is a good thing, but sometimes it's wiser not to be over the top about it in a world of thieves.
