If you think this is one of those "just carry and keep your mouth shut about it" situations, feel free to say so.

Carry at your college golf or bowling class is a Third Degree Felony;
§ 46.03. PLACES WEAPONS PROHIBITED. (a) A person commits
an offense if the person intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly
possesses or goes with a firearm, illegal knife, club, or
prohibited weapon listed in Section 46.05(a):
(1) on the physical premises of a school or
educational institution, any grounds or building on which an
activity sponsored by a school or educational institution is being
conducted, or a passenger transportation vehicle of a school or
educational institution, whether the school or educational
institution is public or private, unless pursuant to written
regulations or written authorization of the institution
(g) An offense under this section is a third degree felony.
This goes back to the earlier question. I am bowling with my buddies at a public place and a school group shows up so I have to leave? doesnt sound right.
If this is a correct interpretation, there doesn't appear to be an exemption even for the owner of the bowling alley. If a school is having a field trip to the museum, I face a third degree felony if I'm armed while there at the same time? If true, that section of the law needs to be fixed badly.
+1. I'm, interested in reading more responses.

I would much rather be the "test case" as a CHLer who happened to be in the bowling alley than a student who intentionally carried while there as a participant in a class. Based upon the "reasonable man" theory, I just don't see things going very far for a CHLer caught in such a position (except maybe places like Travis County!). But, for a student (in any county), it could likely be a far, far more serious set of circumstances. "intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly" methinks are the key words.

A 78-year-old Stephenville man was taken by CareFlight to Fort Worth Harris Methodist Hospital after being robbed and shot in the Tejas Golf Course around 10 a.m. Tuesday, according Police Chief Roy Halsell.
Mike Masuda was shot by a white male who was in the process of aggravated robbery, Halsell said.
"Masuda was shot with what we believe is a 410 shotgun shell and was injured on the left side of his face and left side of his chest," Halsell said. "He does not have life-threatening injuries at this time."
Halsell said the police believe only one shot was fired. The assailant fled an undetermined amount of money.
"(Masuda) was shot and blacked out. When he came to he called 911 then went out and got in his golf cart and found help," Halsell said. "Somebody brought him to the (Harris Methodist of Erath County) hospital in a private vehicle."
From there, Masuda was taken by CareFlight to Fort Worth Harris Methodist.
The robber had not been caught by late Tuesday. Halsell described him as a white male around 6 feet tall in his late 20s or early 30s.
The police are uncertain as to whether or not the gunman fled on foot or by vehicle.
"(Masuda) was the only one who saw him, and he saw him inside," Halsell said. "Parking is on the other side of the building."

Well, about 2 months ago, they had to call the law to the Silver Lake club, someone was being threatened by someone with a golf club, and they pulled their pistol on them.
I wasn't there,
but the woman that works the range is in my Bible study, and she was asking why anyone would carry a gun golfing (because people who golf are crazy, and I want to be protected?).
I do not know if the carrier was a chl or not.
Sounds like liberal rationale, I'm sure the club wielder was wondering the same thing.
