It does no good for lying under oath to be perjury if it isn't prosecuted. Maybe if she were prosecuted for her lies, she wouldn't be in the position she is.Charles L. Her next lie was a claim that the majority of Texans didn't want concealed-carry. I handed Patterson that morning's Houston Post newspaper that had a CHL poll on the front page. Again, I can't recall the exact percentage, but the poll showed that over 70% of Texans wanted the concealed-carry bill to pass. Liar Lee stormed out of the hearing in a huff. She was later elected to Congress where she continues her trade.
(If you look up HB1776, read the as-filed version as well as the version that passed. We amended to be just a referindum as a trap for Gov. Ann Richards, the baby-killer's mother. She fell for it, vetoed the bill, then lost re-election in 1994.)

OK, she had a lot of help, but she gave Texas a pretty good push to the red side.
I would imagine because it would be hard to prove she 'knowingly and willfully' stated something 'untrue'. She isn't the brightest person you'll ever meet.
