I have met a few of them in my day, lol... All of em had thumbstraps...

Sgt. Lough carries without a retention a Stainless Colt .45 with the ugliest grips I have ever seen. By the way Sheriff JB Smith in Smith County (Tyler) carries almost the exact same rig posted without strap.

Or several months ago when there was an LEO convention hosted by my former employer. There were dozens of rigs without retention. I believe I posted about it then.

I think that is a horrible idea personally, but you know what opinions are like...

Quite a few of the investigators for the Texas Southwester Cattle Raisers Assoc also open carry without retention. Several have rigs very similar to the one posted.

Well, well, well......
Seems my fashion statement is not as far off as some suspect!
I have my BBQ gun for sale in the Firearms Forum, but if it does not sell by the time OC gets here, I will just keep it and probably order one of these rigs. I will get a bit different holster with a trigger cover, but, there will be NO RETENTION.
