I have the best commute in the world, I walk 10 steps to my home office.

Or would the best commute be no commute at all?

I live in Denton and have to drive into Dallas and Ft Worth occationally. I would probably kill myself if I had to do it on a daily basis.

I would also like to add, that when a person causes an accident, everyone delayed should be able to "slap" the person once.

I have never seen a single car accident cause a 2 hour delay like on 635 or 35E. It is rediculouse, but i guess everyone needs to get an eye full when they pass.

What is the estimate, 50% of dirvers have the bare minimum drivers training, 30% are proficient, and 20% should not even be on the road?

I can believe this.

The first thing I noticed back when I moved to Dallas, although it could just be a Texas thing, is that you don't need to use the on and off ramps to get on and off expressways. Just get a truck, find a relatively level spot, and cross the the grass between the express way and the service roads. One caution, this doesn't work well on the toll roads.

Don't need a truck. I've done this in a little Saturn, when there was a major accident backing up the highway for six miles. I wasn't terribly worried about a ticket - the cops were bailing off the highway too.

Got a truck now, and strangely enough I've not needed to hop the curb in it yet.

While we're talking about bad driving...

America drives on the right side of the road. England drives on the left. El Paso drives in the shade.

El Pasoans have two reactions to flooded roads. Those with 4x4 vehicles accelerate to 80 mph as fast as possible. After all, they've got four-wheel-drive, they can handle it. Everyone else slows down to 20 mph.

Two people spitting on the asphalt counts as a flooded road.

The more rust on a van in El Paso, the slower it will drive. Deduct additional speed if the van has two or more of the following:
Mexican plates
Is in the fast lane
Driver is under 18 or over 60
Driver is on the phone.
If all four conditions exist with a rusty van, the vehicle will actually travel backwards.

All work trucks with shovels, replacement auto glass, or welding equipment in the bed must have their left turn signal on at all times - even if they're turning right.

In El Paso, tying down your load means having someone sit on the mattress in the truck bed to keep it from flying out. If transporting a mattress with a sedan, all passengers must hold on to it through the windows. Rope is not allowable as a tie-down.

All traffic entering I-10 must be traveling no faster than 35 mph. All traffic leaving I-10 must be traveling no slower than 60.

Right-of-Way isn't.

Turn-Only-Lanes aren't.
