Has anyone realized that the amount of ammo is interesting but it is not illegal? It is not illegal even if the person is also carrying drugs. I am very curious about the fact that the Sheriff is making it sound like a big bust but the ammo is 100 percent legal to have and carry. I don't have 50BMG (wish I could afford it though) but I do have way more than 1200 rounds of ammo in my house, and in my car when I am going to the range.
I think this is part of an indoctrination being made that guns and ammo are bad. See drug dealers carry all this ammo around. What would an honest person need with all that ammo?
This is what I believe also. I think the same thing when they arrest someone and go on about how many guns they own. They are attempting to relate ammo and gun count with criminal intent. It is along the same lines as claiming nobody "NEEDS" a 30 round magazine or an AR15.

They’re right I need a couple of dozen.

I was about to ask if there was a law I didn't know about that made it illegal for a felon to own ammo. They might as well mention the cool shoes the guy was wearing, or any other legal items he happened to have with him.

There are laws on convicted felons possessing ammo, but I can't find anything saying he had been convicted, just wanted. He couldn't buy a gun but I think the possession is alright until convicted. I could be wrong on that.

That’s $6000 in ammunition.
Not illegal. Isn’t the rifle like 10k.
Expensive hobby, especially if your bad at boating.

I remember a trend from around 20 years ago. They were vilifying a gun owner because of the number of gun magazines he had at his home. They weren't talking about 'clips' they were talking about 'Guns n Ammo', 'Field and Stream', and other gun publications.
I switched to reading then disposing of magazines instead of keeping years worth.
Today, all my magazines are less than a year old.
And
I barely have enough firearms and ammo (for a Texan).

The couple that were murdered in Houston, they perp walked all 5 of his guns. Would have paraded his Firld and Stream if they had them.

Looks like a lot more than 1185 rounds in that photo.
