It's hard to describe my feelings about this story. But it confirms what I have told my family and friends for a while now. Police action is almost always after the crime. Rarely do they intervene while a crime is actually happening. Your own safety is in your hands. You better be prepared.

It's the cop's job to draw the chalk outline.

It's your job to make sure it's not YOUR outline.

He had a gun. He REALLY didn't want to use it. I wonder if the perp had actually gained entry, would he have pulled the trigger?

My bet is he would. I think there is a strong possibility he was saying that stuff so he would not have been accused of murder when he took the guy out.In court they would have heard him saying he really did not want to shoot the guy.

It's your job to protect yourself and your family from harm. Do not rely on anyone else to do your job for you. Anyone who chooses to be unarmed and places themselves at the mercy of others for their protection is taking a risk that I, personally, am not willing to take.
