Yeah... my youngest daughter refuses to tell me her boyfriend's last name. I wonder why?
Mama's got guns, and knows how to use them???

Kind of a role reversal here...Its usually the Dad thats cleaning shotguns when the boys come calling...

"Soooooo, yer taking out my daughter...Can you pass me those High Explosive rounds over there son?"
This is a true story...

Couple-three years back, our daughter was anxiously awaiting her first "official" date. She'd been to those middle school "dates", where the respective parents dropped both kids at the mall or skating ring, then picked them up a couple of hours later. But this was a "real date!", where the boy, driving a car, would park in the driveway, ring the bell, and ask if Darling Daughter was ready for their big night out.

As Luck Would Have It...

We'd been to the range that day. When Darling Daughter rushed to answer the doorbell and let the prospective suitor into our domain, I was cleaning a shotgun. I, being the gentleman, stood up and greeted said prospective suitor, shotgun over shoulder and holstered .45 on hip. I ushered him into the kitchen to meet The Mother, where My Beloved was cleaning her .38 revolver.

Honestly, we didn't plan it that way!

But it was a good screening mechanism, because we never heard from that "potential suitor" again.

This happened to me as well....

I just said " WOW is that a Browning Sweet Sixteen? Are they as great as I've heard."

We got permission to attend the Late showing of the movie because he just HAD to take me out in the back yard and let me shoot some clays.
