kwhitton, as you may have gathered... the waiting can really test one's patience. Hang tough and don't get excited until you see the postal carrier driving up your street 5 days after you've seen the status "mailed"!

I have learned a lot and am learning more daily.
Biggest thing, don't be afraid to ask the question, but if you think the question may have been asked before, do a quick search, and the answer may already be there for you.

As part of the March Alumni, I totally agree. This is THE place to learn what you need to know. If it wasn't for this forum, we would all have a much steeper learning curve.

There are a bunch of really solid people on this forum.

The wait is the worst....ok, the picture on my plastic is the worst, the wait is second.

I don't care what the picture on my card makes me look like! I just want the plastic.

Just checked the DPS website this morning - 10 calendar days and now "Processing Application".

Sigh...so here it is 16 or 17 days later and other than the "facelift" regarding all the paperwork has been received, my status has STILL not progessed to a background check.

Very frustrating...

Don't be too frustrated. Mine never showed a background check pending, it never even showed anything about background check until this morning and it read background check completed.

Same thing happened here this morning. I thought there was no progress being made and suddenly my background check is complete and I am now pending application review...getting closer!

Now the bad part is I've been stuck at print pending application review for a few days. How long does it take to review an application?

Glad to see that there is finally some movement, that means that there is still hope for the rest of us waiters.

I'm still waiting for the system to even acknowledge I've submitted my app. I log in, but all I get is the "Submit new applications blahblah" screen. :(

2 weeks + just to see anything in the system is harsh.

Redlin, sure hope yours wraps up soon. After a period where things seemed to click along it appears that the temporary slowdown for Census processing has had a huge ripple effect on the April applications.

Got this news just now. "The license is being printed. You should receive it within 1-2 weeks." Rene is such a nice guy, I take back anything negative I said about him.
