I'm curious why you waited so long to get fingerprinted? Is that how you chose to do it or were you told to do it that way?

If you do the paper application you have to wait till DPS puts your information into the system or sends a letter before you can schedule your fingerprints. I tried to schedule them before my info was in the system and I would get a error message saying it does not recognize my name.
Reason I did the paper application is cause I was unaware of the online app, our CHL instructor gave us everything to mail off.

Hopefully mine will go that fast.. Nothing bad should come up in my bg check..

I want to say thank you to everyone on here, its a great forum and it really helped pass the time reading all the posts.

My status just updated this morning after 6am. Background complete. Mfg pending.
66 days since I mailed it
57 days since they've signed for it.

I have been lurking for a while now. Finally decided to post and give a little update,
Class taken 3/24/2013
All paperwork sent 3/25/2013
Fingerprints done 3/26/2013
Paperwork arrived 4/01/2013
Status changed to received 5/08/2013
EDIT: Just called the dps because the application received was in yellow and i was concerned.
apparently my BG Is done and they just need to scan my photo and they will manufacture my License!

It has been a loooooog, loooog wait. But! Finally have, deep breath, confirmation of receipt of materials. Pending background check. Gee, you'd think military and er, other service would count. Guess more hurry up n' waiting in order. Shoot, it's only been 9 weeks.
Have had no response to emails/phone calls to DPS. Good luck to US.

3/6 mailed all paperwork and got fingerprints
3/8 received by DPS (certified mail)
4/23 in the system waiting on BG check
5/9 still waiting.......
