Still waiting as well. In looking at fender_fellas timeline, DPS got our apps the same time but his went into processing before mine....so hopefully I'm just a few days away.

Switched to "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active" today, SATURDAY, 9/13.

Application Mailed - May 19, 2008
Processing - 7/25/08
Issued - 9/13/08.....117 Days.....now waiting for Plastic to arrive.

Don't give up hope fellow May class. I finally got Issued status, though no plastic in hand.

I heard that the Williamson County background check if you need it is the long pole in the tent.

Online app completed - 5/12/08
Packet dropped off at DPS - 5/20/08
Online status updated to "Processing" - 6/17/08
Online status updated to "Issued" - 9/15/08

Called DPS today, and was told..."License Issued!" She said give it 5 to 10 days for the plastic to arrive. I'm shooting for 2! However the website still says Processing App.

Williamson County took time on mine too. No problems, just took a little longer. Staffings/vacations---I don't know. DPS said they normally don't take that long, so since a couple of us had a delay, it may just be a fluke. I've only been a resident for 9 months, and haven't even had a speeding ticket since prior to 1972. My wife's application went in to the system in July, and her's has already cleared Williamson County, so maybe the delay issue has been fixed...

Well, my app got issued and overnighted yesterday. Day 129, and I'm outta here! Good luck to those still waiting!

Well, logged on today and status has changed to "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active" this morning. But i look on the counter and there it is from UPS. Plastic in hand!

Well I'm over here in Houston and no power at home still, but the office opened yesterday. Logged on and saw the 5 little words I'd been waiting for "application approved or certificate active" Even better, got home from work and had a envelope waiting for me

Mailed: May 19th
Pin: June 27th
Received license: Sept 18th

It's good to see more celebratory posts than complaint posts; it gives me a wee bit of hope.

I really wish we could figure out some sort of pattern to these delays. I've lived in only dallas and tarrant county for 22yrs. I have absolutely no criminal records, tax problems, past due student loans, etc. so I would ASSUME that mine would be a fairly easy app. to process, but I've just hit the 120 day mark. Oh well, you know what happens when you assume... you make an a** out of u and me.

I read a post on the July Applications that the plastic is printed elsewhere and takes awhile. I'd just like mine to say something other than processing.

I was emailed a letter today from the Concealed Handgun Licensing Bureau. Since I live in a county impacted by Ike, my application is delayed for an unknown period of time due to the field investigation being delayed.

I'm pretty sure some June and July apps were getting approved ahead of Ike though so I'm none too happy about this.

Just another excuse. Your app should of been approved way before Ike. A coworker sent his in 5/19 and has had his permit for a couple weeks already.

Man my dad still hasn't received his license. He hasn't even received a pin number or any communications yet.

I'm calling them tomorrow to ask whats up.
