Thats good news! I am tired of checking every morning and seeing 'Processing Application', hopefully it won't be much longer.

Here's my update for other June applicants:

June 1, completed my application online, received PIN upon printing the application
June 9, received packet in mail
June 21, took CHL course
June 23, mailed packet
August 9:
Received a return mail of one of my pics w/ an 'incomplete' letter--that didn't give me heads nor tails of what to complete. After reading my original packet several times, I determined that the green instruction sheet for the fingerprinting officer stated for him to have me sign the picture in his presence. I returned the signed pic on Aug. 11. My checklist implied that one of the pics would only have one signature.

October 14, status changed to: Application Completed - license issued or certificate active

Hope this helps those in waiting, especially any who may have received a return.

Wife just called,and the postman delivered my plastic today. Holster arrived today,so plastic is here now too....

06/28/08 - Class taken
06/29/08 - Qualified
06/30/08 - Packet Mailed
07/02/08 - Return receipt received
07/17/08 - Emailed details to request PIN.
07/18/08 - Advised I'm still not entered in system and will receive a letter with PIN once it's entered.
08/08/08 - PIN letter received
08/15/08 – Received letter from DPS requesting new fingerprints
08/18/08 – Electronic prints mailed to DPS
08/22/08 - Received Return Receipt confirmation that new prints were received by DPS
09/22/08 - "PROCESSING APPLICATION" (Grrrrrr!!!)
10/20/08 - Application Completed - license issued or certificate active

Just got a call from Deadra at dps. she said she just sent my license to the house and should be there in 7 to 10 days. Application completed
Time to leave the waiting room. Good luck to everyone. It has been great!!

I forgot to update, on p. 11 I mentioned I would call. In fact I did and they sent it out the next day.
It was almost 4 months to the day, thanks to some bull hold put on at my former county of residence.

dps received my packet on June 12

do i email someone? if so who and what do i say?

i've called a few times and i always hear the same thing. they're waiting on my background check my record is spotless

No you're not the only one left in here, I'm with you. I emailed through the chl email address early last week, got a reply back almost immediately (which makes it suspect...IMO) that they were waiting on my background checks to be completed. I'm a couple of weekes behind your application timeline. I guess we'll just hurry up a wait some more. Good luck!

Gov. Perry got them on the ball just days after my email to his office

paperwork was received by DPS back in mid June, status still says Processing Application. Harris county if anyone was curious
