Well the good news is that I am finally in the system as I was able to log in today for the first time.

Bad news is it shows an incomplete application.

Application : Incomplete, notice sent to applicant
Fingerprints : Received
Affidavits : Received
DL or ID : Valid
Citizenship : No documentation required
Passport photo holder : Under review
Photo : Received
Proof of Classroom training : Received
Proof of Proficiency training : Received
Proof of Special Condition : Received
Fee : Received

Hope is gets to me quick so I can fix what ever problem their was quickly.
Background Check : Under review
Concealed Handgun License : Print pending completion of application review

This stinks. I called today and my app is on a techs desk for review. Hes been the most informative yet.

updated to background complete this morning.

My wife and I both had missing info on the app since 4/29 and the info was sent same day or 2 days later and just this am, the system was updated to received. So that's like a 2 week lag. I feel fairly certain that we should have plastic in a week. Will keep everyone updated

I was so surprised to see that I had green across the board this morning. Now, where do we find out what stage of processing it's in? It shows that everything that I needed to supply is in their hands, but nothing about "Application under review" or the background check. Is that something that pops up once they begin the process or ???

Is email the only way we can get an updated status on our applications, or will it eventually update on the website? Would you mind asking them that so we're not inundating them with email traffic? Thanks!

Your status will update, but it seems to that it is not an automatic update. Some of us get antsy and either call or e-mail to see if there is any changes. I would not suggest doing this on a daily basis, but in general, I called or e-mailed probably every other week. I e-mailed the last time because I saw on here that some that mailed their app after I did were getting ahead of me. Your time will come, patience is real hard, but patience is what you have to have.

I can be (relatively) patient as the system updates. Just wanted to make sure that it will, indeed, change and show eash new step online. Since the info is being provided, I won't bother contacting TXDPS, they already seem to have enough work on their hands without antsy folks like myself distracting them.
