Well, Day 60 passed yesterday so I called DPS to find out why my application had been in "background review" for the last seven weeks. After a 20-minute wait -- endlessly bad music and frequent taped suggestions that I check the FAQ list on the website -- I talked with a nice guy who said the technician who handled my application was waiting for one last bit of information from the state of Texas. I thought DPS WAS the state of Texas. Anyway, he suggested checking back in a week or two if my status hadn't changed.
I know this is shocking news to anyone who has been through this process, but when I checked the DPS site this morning, the background check was complete and I was in "manufacturing pending."
Yeah, that means more waiting. But at least it's the last step.
best,
Mike

I bet it moves fast now. I know mine did once it finally was inputted.
If it doesn't, you might remind them that after 60 days they are required by law to mail you a letter stating why.

You're right, catdaddy ... today it says the license is in the mail ... only took a day for that manufacturing process ...
Now I need to pick up a pair of IWB jeans ... not sure the Glock will tuck into the everyday pants ...
best,
Mike
