Update to "Concealed Handgun License : Mailed "
This morning.. :)

I received my CHL in the mail yesterday - 85 days mailbox to mailbox (mailed in materials on 11/4/13). <Happy Dance!>

* Interesting to note - my on-line status first showed "mailed" on 1/22/14. Since it was 7:00 AM when I checked, I naturally assumed that it meant it was actually mailed the day before (on 1/21/14), since "mailed" is past tense (and I didn't think they had mailed it earlier than 7 AM that morning). When I received my CHL today - I noticed that the postmark on the envelope was "01/24/2014" meaning that they not only didn't mail it the day before, but 2 days AFTER it was posted as mailed (1/22/14).

Sooooo...the date when you see your status change to "mailed" may not actually be the date they mail it.

Also, for anyone who might be curious - they mailed it USPS First Class Mail (mailed on Friday 1/24 and I received it Tuesday 1/28...and I live in the Dallas area).

Recap:

11/04/13: Mailed materials

01/18/14: Status changed from "waiting on the receipt of the required documents" to "background check" (75 days before status first changed after mailing!)

01/19/14: Status changed to "concealed handgun license: manufacturing pending"

01/21/14: Status changed to "concealed handgun license: manufacturing"

01/22/14: Status changed to "concealed handgun license: mailed"

01/28/14: Received CHL in the mail (and as prescribed by recent legislation, it has "Veteran" printed on it)

Got another status change! Status now changed to "mailed"

Timeline so far:

Class: sometime in October
Application submitted: 11/1/13
Fingerprints and docs: 11/4/13
First update (background check under review): 01/16/14
Second update (background check complete; manufacturing pending): 01/28/14
Third update (CHL mailed) 01/29/14


Time from app submission to first status update: 76 calender days, 52 work days (excluding Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day)
Time from app submission to current status: 89 calender days, 61 work days (excluding Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day)

We don't live too far from Austin, so we will be looking for it in the next few days. There might even be the possibility of having it by the end of the week but at least by next weekend for sure. So nice to finally be at the end of this whole ridiculous, way-too-long process

My CHL came in today! Woohoo! The funny thing is it says I weigh 150, but I've lost over 20 lbs since I submitted my documents 79 days ago lol.

Submitted Nov 26 and still no updates.

I do kinda wonder, I pay my child support direct to my ex. I don't go through the AG. I hope they don't have an issue with this.

Received my CHL today, 1/29/2014.. submitted app on 11/6/2013..
FYI my license showed as mailed on 1/23/2014 but was NOT post marked until 1/27/2014.. and I live in the Dallas area.

Wife received hers yesterday. Sent docs on Nov. 3. BUT THE PICTURE ON THE LICENSE WAS NOT HER! It was not even the picture of a woman so it looks like some guy may have my wife's pic on his license. She called and they are going to reissue a corrected license. I see from some other posts here they hired some temps to catch up the backlog. I guess they didnt test their eyesight. Just wondering if anyone here had the same problem?

I would pay child support directly through the AG if you have a court order. If you dont then there isnt a child support case.
