You are correct. The actual clock starts the day they receive the app.

Well. I made my first call to DPS to check the status of my CHL application. The actual conversation lasted all but 30 seconds or less. It went something like this.
Lady: Hello.
Me: Hi. I was calling to check the status of my CHL.
Lady: Do you know your app number or social?
Me: My social is xxx-xx-xxxx
Lady: Your license has been sent out for printing. It will be mailed to you shortly.
Me: Oh? (suprised) Ok. Thank you so much.
Lady: uh huh.

Well, I don't think I'll be too optimistic until my status changes to complete. From what I read on the forum, there are some members that have been told the same thing and have waited months to receive their license. I guess I'll be checking my status more often now...hehe.
Congrats EHS!

I called today and my status was "Pending" which from what she said means it is waiting to go to printer, best I can guess is they send batch jobs to the printer which would make since. Sadly though she said it would still be 2-3 weeks until I see plastic. as of today sitting at 117 days.

My status finally changed today to "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active". Hopefully since I'm close to Austin it will get to me soon.
