Plastic in 34 days or so, with no updates for 23 of them.
I am not saying that this is the normal, but don't let it worry you too much.

My husband and I took our class on 6/25. Mailed applications with fingerprints 6/28. Received by DPS on July 1.

Both of us have the same status

* Application : Received
* Fingerprints : Under review
* Affidavits : Received
* DL or ID : Valid
* Citizenship : No documentation required
* Passport photo holder : Received
* Photo : Received
* Proof of Classroom training : Received
* Proof of Proficiency training : Received
* Fee : Received
* Background Check : Under review
* Concealed Handgun License : Print pending completion of application review

There is a positive side to checking the status often ... I've managed to memorize my DL number. :mrgreen:

it took exactly 3 weeks after my packet was delivered to DPS before I got status. I still had the license in hand in exactly 40 days.

Shasta i understand the feeling. My packet was recieved the same day as yours, and i have the same status. On another note, my wifes was recieved the same day, and the state says she doesnt exist, and i dont just mean on the site, TXDPS cannot find her DL #. Their working to fix that...hahah!

Oh no! That's one I've never heard of. I'm assuming you've lived in TX awhile and she's gone through at least one renewal? Seems that they would have caught it then.
