Why do they announce how some of the members vote but not the others?

I'm pleased to see that that table is filling up with these amendments quickly.

It's all designed to delay and postpone the inevitable.

You would think this is the first time anyone has ever considered open carry, and so there are all kinds of unknowns about retention, cops and open-carriers, liability, ad nauseum. I mean it's not like this had been done 40 or 44 time before without any significant problems.... :banghead:

I like the knife amendment so far.

Let me carry my KA-bar! I'd rather OC that than a handgun on most occasions.

Finally an amendment I can get behind.

Any hidden gotchas in the knife amendment?

I think it's because they have an issue with their desk buttons or they are not at there desk, they are at another part of the room.

It would have to go back to the Senate and be voted on again since the Senate did not pass this amendment.

It's too late in the session to play that game.

There are other bills dealing with knives. Deal with knives with knife bills.

it's changing the definition of prohibited weapons. If you start hanging other baggage on the bill, a couple things happen. One is you might chip away at the people lined up to support the bill when you add things they may have an issue with. The other thing is that if you add amendments, the bill doesnt' match what passed the senate and then the two bills have to go to conference committee to be reconciled and other changes may result.

It's better to have a separate knife bill if that is something that has enough support.

Good points.
