Well my CHL finally arrived in today's mail. From the date of their receipt of my packet to delivery in my mailbox, total elapsed time was 89 days. I am in Tarrant County and this was a new license.

Wishing everyone in process, either new or renewal, a speedy issuance!!!

My CHL arrived today too. Mailed it January 19, so 53 days door to door. Now I'm going to go try this thing out.

This is in Harris County BTW. I expected it to take longer than this; I've only lived in Texas since Julyand thought it would take longer than usual to check. I guess it is a pleasant surprise.

This just doesn't make any sense!!!!

I agree; it is kind of strange.

I was beginning to think I would challenge Kalrog for the record, but Geopagus was right that I would get mine a few days after him, since we both sent in our apps a few days apart.

I still think many of these lengthy times are attributed to the specific admin who handles your app at DPS, and whether or not they do their processing job in an expedient manner or are totally disorganized and poor performers.

YES!

I got a nice present this morning.

As i'm checking my e-mail for the morning, I reflexively check my status on The Website.

The thing is, it didn't say what I expected it to say. This morning, it said, "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active"

Here's the funny part. My mailbox was destroyed by vandals this weekend. Hopefully I can convince the post office to actually deliver mail to me this week. heh.

Well I just got off the phone with DPS and they state mine was sent out YESTERDAY!!! So that would put it at 62 days.

App was signed for on Jan. 12th.....

I called Friday to check the status and was told...."it's still processing and hopefully you'll recieve it within 2 weeks"

I checked the website this morning and it says license is approved and issued....WOOT!

Thats 61 days, I wonder how long it will take for the maildude to get it to me?

Silly question for anyone who might know:
When the website says "Issued" does that mean the stuff is just approved, and they have to physically make the license, then send it out? I know they are doing it the old fashioned way (not with a printer that spits these things out instantly) so I was just wondering if that adds to the mailing time.

(Yes, i'm impatient. I've been naked since feb. when my AZ CWP expired!)

I don't think so; I received mine two days after web status changed - that means it had to be mailed the same day the status was changed (60 days exactly)
