Yeah I was really psyched to get my CHL in the mail today...but no luck. It HAS to be tomorrow!

My boss has decided that I need to drive 3 hours to Austin tomorrow to do 30 minutes of work. Would DPS get mad if I stopped at their headquarters and asked what was the hold-up with my license?

There is someone at the counter and they would more then likely help with any question you have.

I just checked the status of my application and it's finally processing. I mailed out the forms on April 29th certified return receipt and I got back the receipt on May 5th without a date on it so I don't know when they actually got it. Now that I know they have it, I can calm down a bit. I'm sure it'll take another four months at least considering how long people have been waiting.

Applied online: April 15th
Completed two day class: April 23rd
Received packet from DPS: April 29th
Mailed packet: April 29th
Received return receipt: May 5th
Processing: June 2nd

Well I fought the urge to check the website over the weekend since it only discourages me. I of course checked the waiting room to see how everyone was doing and if anyone needed a beverage or a pillow I noticed a few people who submitted in March got their plastics. I checked the wesite and....(drumroll please)...I've been status changed to Application Completed!!!!!!!! So it looks like your wait is almost up if you applied in February or beginning of March!

Nope. DPS sent it next day UPS; not via the United States Postal Service.

WOW that's cool. maybe that means they're trying speed things up.

For those of you who have emailed the CHL dept what information did you include in the email?
Name, Address, SSN, DL #, Date application recieved, etc..
The reason I ask is that I emailed them yesterday morning and have not received a reply.

yes i pretty much sent that info along with my app number, and a few pleases.
