Welcome to the board! Wally-walk is what you do after you have received your CHL. You get your handgun and conceal it and take a walk around Wal-Mart. Its your own test to yourself on concealment.

You all are so lucky, I have to drive 98 miles to get to a Wal Mart. Will going to an Alco count? Or maybe our local True Value Hardware? By the way, living out in the middle of Presidio County has not been easy for me either, two more days and I get to the 100 day mark since mailing off my packet. Its tough all over.

I want to know why it takes DPS months to do a background check on you, but when a cop pulls you over and does a background check it takes minutes?

And why they rejected my FBI print card in April and then rejected my Texas print card in May. Takes a month to look at the other card in the envelope?? Im on day 104. Sad part is when I took my class in Feb I told the wife I wanted to do it then because if I waited a few more months I wouldn't have my plastic until July!! Guess thats the universe's way of showing irony.

Darn, I forgot all about the gun show in Odessa. Was there a good turn out? Out this way you would never think that we would have a background check problem, but today is my 100th day for Presidio County.
We certainly don't have a DPS problem out here, heck we have more LEO's then citizens!

Thanks for the kind words, but sometimes you just need to drive those 98 miles to get that fix. Living out here in the middle of God's country is great, but there are those times you just need to see the lights of big cities. Its just the way it is. Doesn't happen a lot, but its fun to eat at a chain restaurants, and walk thru a mall. I know it sounds crazy, but its fun. By the way, the next largest city is another 100 miles away from there. (Midland/Odessa). Look up Marfa, TX on the map
