I wonder how many people will say that Z should have stayed in his truck and called police.
Very good observation and post !

and another...

Now just days after a jury found him not guilty of being a vigilante, he finally found a real way to become a hero.
I suppose it won't be long before somebody accuses George of CAUSING the accident so he could be Batman again...

Or even worse! Somebody sues him because he injured them while saving them from the crash. ;-)

ABC's report doesn't include any details about the seriousness of the crash or the person's need for Zimmerman's assistance after it happened, but we wouldn't be surprised to learn that he is actively seeking out opportunities for redemption.
Some of the comments...
He does seem like kind of an adrenaline junkie, doesn't he?

It'd be hilarious if the person pulled from the truck was actually a wanted criminal.
Damn it, Zimmerman!!

I bet prior to the accident, he was pursuing the truck because it looked suspicious.

Someone please do check the truck's brake line for Zimmerman's fingerprints.

Ok good friend, I need you to crash your truck and I'll "miraculously" be there to pull you out. Got it. Great. Thanks

Here's the non-mobile version: http://abcnews.go.com/US/george-zimmerm ... d=19735432" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

George must be cursed. He can't seem to stay out of the spotlight even when he's in hiding.

One thing for sure. He certainly doesn't mind helping when he perceives a person is in trouble.

How random... what are the chances?

I think Juror B37 nailed it when she said she believed Zimmerman's heart was in the right place, but he just got in over his head.

Still wouldn't mind having him as a neighbor. :tiphat:

:iagree: But he'll probably now be called a wannabe fireman for his efforts.

This question is only meta-relevant to the topic.

What is the longest thread in the history of the forum? Are there other notables that rival this one?

The longest is probably one of the game threads.

This is actually a significant factor in the ongoing efforts to foster dependency on the government. Wannabe cop, wannabe fireman....are part and parcel of the same objective: to disparage and discourage non-government approved individuals from displaying any self-reliance and to foster helplessness and dependency.

And for that, he's labled a "wanna be cop", "stupid", "playing Batman".

I wonder when/if some of those folks, many of whom really should know better, will finally acknowledge, that maybe, just maybe this was a good man, doing a good thing, who got attacked, and availed himselfself of what most of us agree he has a right to - self-defense?!?

I'll repeat what I said earlier - He is a hero. We could use more like him.
:patriot:
