Life is the stuff that happens while you are waiting around for something to happen. Since you are currently single there is nothing restricting you to the local area. Have you looked at doing something out of state? Out of the country? I've heard some of the contractors in Iraq/Afganistan are hiring.

For some people, the economy is always bad. I had the misfortune of graduationg college at the same time the real estate market crashed in Houston (early 80's). The local economy was terrible then. It took me 10+ years to pay off my college loans and I just bought my first home at age 47. All that said, I've had a wonderful time over the last 30 years of my working life because I grab opportunities and run with them. Some have borne fruit and others have not, but I still treasure every day that I'm blessed to have.

Don't get bogged down with specifics. Go looking for opportunities. Several people have mentioned Military, Police, Security. What about off shore oil worker? Hauling lumber in Alaska? Merchant Marines? Don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it...kill the captain...and claim it as yours.

Lunchbox, I mean this as positively as I can. Suck it up, and push on. If you want to improve your situation, you have to do it. No one else is going to do it for you. You made it through a technical school, you can make it through an academy. I worked full time as an ER tech while going to nursing school. My brother worked full time at an oilfield company in their shop while attending the night police academy. Nothing worth doing is ever easy. Nothing easy is ever going to pay off in the end. I sincerely wish you the best of luck. I really do look forward to hearing about what happens. I think if you'll take a minute and reevaluate your situation, work through the negativity in your life, and push yourself a little bit, you'll be just fine. You just gotta DO IT!!!

i looked into that stuff. i need a pasport to go over seas. it takes forever to get one.
i just moved back from alaska where i couldnt get a job to save my life

You will never get anywhere waiting for someone to "give" you something. You have to seek it out and take it. You have to do whatever it takes to achieve what you want. You have to want it bad enough to do absolutely anything to achieve your goal. Dead ends are just a place to turn towards the next route. You always have options.

If you want to be successful, you need to surround yourself with successful people. These people need to possess the qualities, the ethics, the attitudes, the goals that you want. If the people around you do not reflect what you want in your life then move on. Find the ones who will help you and value you.

One of the first things you can do is start your day off in the right direction and frame of mind by getting a good night sleep and rising early in the morning, eating a healthy breakfst, and face the day. The world does not turn to your direction.

I really do wish you success. We will do for you what we can, and shower you with advice.

Your success relies on how you apply the advice.

speaking of i heard of a job right up my alley

I know plenty of folks that live on 10 bux an hour, on their own.

Well, anyways, you could look into becoming a member on the Texas Department of Corrections as a prison guard. I know there are plenty of billboards begging for help.

if i knew that the debt i took on trying to better my life would be all for not i wouldnt have
but i was told i would make alot more money than i am so i have toons of debt credit cards school loans etc etc and lets not forget the price of gas right now. i could be fine with 10 dallars an hour. i could have made 10 an hour with no school what so ever. but i planned to make 35-45k its just not what happened in real life and yea if you couldnt guess im kinda irritated about it

well, techinical schools (as well as universities) are really just for-profit businesses. They will tell you whatever they want to get you to invest in their product.
You need to remember that at all times. Its hard for me to forget when tuition raises every year.
