However, your claim is wrong for child sex offenders and rapists. These types tend to reoffend, and often get increasingly violent with each offense. I don't trust them as far as I can throw them, with or without a weapon.

It's surprising isn't it? That's what's interesting is nearly across the board sex offenders have a lower recidivism rate than other crimes, even in their highest category when a sex offender was released and he allegedly commited another sex offense he still have a 40% rearrest rate, which is still 1/3 lower than the general criminal population.
