I'll second that. I went by the local Drivers License office in Hurst and picked up a postcard requesting an application and mailed it to Austin. When I received the application packet back I went looking for a class and found Crossfire's available that weekend. I signed up for the class online and got the next to last spot.

Here's my current timeline:
Took class: 8-16-08
Mailed: 8-18-08, 1:00 pm
USPS certified-mail confirmation Austin delivered: 8-20-08, 9:29 am
USPS certified-mail Utah confirmation delivered: *not yet*

.
I think we took the same class. I mailed my app a few hours before you so it will be interesting to see who get the plastic first.

Howdy folks ~ I'n new here ~ took the class with Crossfire in Roanoke on 8/16, mailed app on 8/20 certified mail, app received 8/22 ~ now the waiting begins. I'm thinking of looking for a holster so if anyone has an suggestion for a SW99 please send them my way. Thanks

I took the same class. As far as a holster I wore this Crossbreed Supertuck around the house on Saturday with my XD40SC and it took some getting used to. I still never felt entirely comfortable when sitting down. Do you intend to carry IWB or does your mode of dress make an external cover garment possible for OWB carry?

I probably will need IWB for normal carry. However since it's likely that we won't get our plastic until winter I may start with OWB when wearing a coat. To may choices.... I also don't want to go out and drop $60 - $90 without knowing that a holster is going to be comfortable for me. I wish there was a local store I could get one of these premium holsters at so I could try it out first or return it if need.

Crossbreed has a 2 week trial period. If you dont like the holster for any reason you can return it. I have been wearing mine on a daily basis around the house and at my place of business and it is very comfortable. It took some time for it to mold to my side but now it feels great. I ahev also been using the belly band from galco and it is also a great way to carry. Good luck. From the looks of things here in the August forum things are speeding up at DPS.

Thanks for the info on crossbreed ~ I may try them ~ I'm hoping that things are getting better and quick over at the DPS ~ it's funny how I waited so long to take the class and then all of a sudden I seem to want the plastic ASAP!
