I don't know if any one has thought about the Florida License. I carry on the Florida License, if you are Ex Military, all you have to do is send them a copy of your DD214 along with your applicatiion and Fingerprint card, you are not required to have any class as long as you are Ex Military. So, for me it was a lot cheaper then the Texas, I didn't have to pay extra for the class, and it is good for 5 years.
Just another idea for everyone that has not thought about it.

I also thought of getting the Florida license. I believe the Texas proficiency can be used for the training requirement, but the Florida License is $107 initial and renewal. Utah is a little more up front because of the class, but the renewal is only $10 with no class requirement.

What are you going to do with two Utah CFPs?
Just giving you a bad time. I took the class from Charles at PSC and got my Utah license last week.

Welcome to the forum Bashful. I don't think you will have to drag your son. The Utah CFP class is a great class. He will come most willingly.

The Texas profieiency can be used for the Florida License. The thing I liked about the Florida License was the fact I did not have to waste my time or money taking a class. I know that might sound pretty petty, but, I have had so much weapons training and use of weapons in the Military, I think I am good to go.

It's more like a couple of guys sitting around and visiting and it's been my experience that this just doesn't work well. (I'm not saying you are suggesting otherwise.)

We have plenty of people here that want to take the Utah class, so I'll try to get it on the schedule in the next 2 weeks. It may have to be on a week night because of scheduling, but I'll try to make it a Friday.

Chas,
Is there any update on scheduling for a class?

I might be interested in the class as well. I'd be traveling from Austin to attend. Otherwise I am searching for one in Austin.

Sorry for the slow response, but I'm waiting on a scheduling response from the church. I'll try to post something by next Wednesday.

Sorry guys, but a trial setting and now a hurricane threw a monkey wrench in my planning. I'll still try to get it set before the end of Sept.
