Thanks everyone for the responses.
The dogs have been back a 2nd time and I hit them again with the paintball gun. Since then, (for over a week) I have not seen them. Either in my yard or in the owner's yard. I guess they are keeping them inside now. Maybe they saw the paint on them and got the message?

But if they aggressively approach me again, they are history. SS&S!
