First...

I would not carry in a place that serves substandard Chinese food...

Second...

A group of kids walking into an area where I can carry anyway, regardless of how many kids there are, and what they are wearing at the time does not change the situation...

We had a discussion a while back that is similar in that you are in a museum, and a school field trip comes in after you get there, or for that matter you come in after they get inside the museum...

It was determined that you are not in violation of that statute...

In reality, I am not a regular attendee in museums and other places where kids coming in or on a school sponsored field trips occur...

And that this thread is an excellent discussion to have to clarify this situation...

My first clue would have been that the place is in a mall. I've never had good food in a mall. I've had somewhat decent food all the way down to terrible food in a mall, but never good food. Mall restaurants do not hire chefs, they hire low-wage cooks. :ack:

The key word is sponsored.

If what crossfire is implying is correct then ANY mall is automatically off-limts.

How about let's anchor to reality.

Just to clarify, I never implied that i believed this scenario was a school sponsored event. Just that, if it was, it is my interpretation of the law that it would be off limits to CHL carry.

Okay. Thanks for the clarification. Since I agree with the post refering to the explanation by Mr. Cotton, my interpretation is that is is not off limits.

I think Northwest was one of first malls built in the Houston area. But that was when Cypress-Fairbanks was a just a little red neck farming community with one of the most outstanding school districts in state. God, where did it all go wrong. :banghead:
