You may think your IP address is hidden. As a lawyer who has been involved in this type of thing, I assure you that your IP address can be found. Maybe not easily, but it can be found.

I sometimes think about not having paper trails on gun too but then like Anygunanywhere states, I have posted enough on this and other gun related boards and if that was not enough, I have a CHL. So if BO ever wants to come after our guns, I figure that I like the rest of you on here will be among their first stops.

No, when you use the service provided by http://www.MegaProxy.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
there is no tracable record of where you go online.

These folks delete their records and shred their hard drives
before writing over them...and yes, there is a way to shred
the info from your hard drive using government approved
shredding software approved for use by the CIA, FBI, etc

How do you know that site isn't really run by the feds?

Anyway, your IP address is not an issue. There are plenty of other ways to find out who owns firearms, as I wrote above.

Oops. I'm starting to feel a little paranoid. Perhaps it's only my shadow that follows me.

Advice for face to face purchases: not much, perhaps to meet at a mutually agreeable area such as a gun range.

It sounds like the seller is the one who should be worried. Without a CHL how does he know you're not a criminal?

How do I know if a CHL holder isn't a criminal, and
has decided to start living on the dark side with 'ol Darth Vader
after having obtained their CHL???

I'll ask it another way. How does the seller know you're even legally able to purchase or possess a firearm?

I won't sell a gun to someone who doesn't have a CHL.

I think you have too much time on your hands. :smilelol5:

Maybe you should consider taking up a hobby of some sort?

How do I know the seller isn't selling me an illegal weapon?
No matter how you ask the question, it applies equally on the other side of the coin.

Thanks for letting me know where you stand so I don't waste my time!

No, I'm a very busy guy (business owner) who is not in favor of government
intrusion into my private life, so I'd like to keep that to a minimum as much as possible

You can't absolutely be sure. You can't absolutely be sure of anything except God's love, death, and taxes.

But someone who has made it to the age of 21 or older without a criminal record and has a CHL is very unlikely to commit a crime, the way we normally talk about crime.

They may cheat on their taxes or get involved in illegal drugs, insider trading or embezzlement. They are very unlikely to be selling contraband weapons. That is a gangster's game.
