What constitutes an anti-gun Texan; someone who disagrees with you on open-carry?

With gun owners like that, who needs anti-gunners?
Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

No he didn't. Here is the post you reference. He was responding to another post and was talking about rights, limits, etc. In no way did he equate open-carry with wearing a swastika in a Jewish Synagogue. Why do this? Do you think misquoting people who disagree with you is helping the open-carry cause in Texas? I'm not going to let this go on. Discuss the topic honestly and forthrightly; don't misquote anyone or attribute false motives. This isn't OpenCarry.org.

For all the people who support concealed carry only, do you think religion should only be legal if it's concealed?
Cool...then by this logic, we should all be allowed to walk around naked in public, scream fire in a crowded theater and wear a T shirt with a swastika emblem on it in a Jewish Synagogue, all without being charged with creating a public disturbance.

Don't forget the government license if you want to practice religion outside your home, car and place of business.

I'm not going to allow people to make personal attacks on other members. I tried to defuse the situation but it isn't working. Talk about the issue, not the poster.

The OP was about GOA getting involved, get back on topic.

I like when gun groups speak out against government restricting people keeping and bearing arms.

I have read that a majority of the U.S. has some type of open carry laws, usually referring to letting cities not allowing it. Their are some states that have open carry, even without a license.
I have seen videos on youtube referring to citizens that do open carry in the city of Keene, I believe is the city. They had problems with officers stopping citizens to question why their open carrying, even though its legal their.
Their was in incident on the east coast, I learned of it on Gun Digest but can't remember where, where their state is open carry without a license. A soccer mom, who also had a CHL, always went to the games displaying her pistol on her belt. Some citizens, including her daughters coach, didn't like it and asked her to leave her pistol in her car. She told them no so they called the police on her. The officers disarmed her and the Sheriff revoked her CHL. She took it to court and won, the Sheriff apologized but made a remake to something like people shouldn't be carrying openly.
Another situation is where a security guard was going to work and decided to leave his pistol in open carry. State Trooper saw his holstered pistol in parking lot and detained him, then arrested him for Disorderly Conduct, carrying openly. Turns out the State Trooper didn't know his state was open carry, so when it went to court, the defendant won. I didn't hear that he wanted money though, the just wanted the Trooper reeducated in state gun laws. But the Troopers Commanding Officer went a step further and had his whole unit reeducated. I can't remember where this took place, but it come out on Gun Digest too.
I'm all in favor for open carry. I don't feel right that the state can tell me no you can't, it should be my choice. The right was given to me by the Constitution per God. I would rather have the option of open or concealed then having someone call police on me because my pistol was revealed by accident or some civilian who was just worried. I've heard some people say that they wouldn't carry openly just so the bad guy won't jump them or take their pistol away. Then I've read where some people were openly carrying (in states that allowed it, or in their premises) and the bad guy just walked back the other direction after seeing the gun.
On the anti-gun Texans subject, I've talked to some here where they just think that killing people should be outlawed period. One is a cousin who doesn't think that self defense is even a reason to take someones life. Whether because of rape or home invasion, to her its just not right. My sense was that she would rather let them kill her then to defend herself. I still can't believe she's related to me.
It may take some time for people to get use to others walking around with guns, but they will get desensitized.

It's legal for African Americans to own and drive cars. However, there are people being stopped by the police for "driving while black" just like there are people hassled for legal carry. I think the way to fix the problem is educating the police and then discipline cops who won't obey the law. Jail is an appropriate penalty for a continuing pattern of civil rights violations.

Nope, IMHO. God gave the right, the Constitution merely confirmed that the Constitutional Convention acknowledged that God gave it.

According to the Declaration of Independence, we were endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights, including life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Self-defense flows from those rights.

Most would implie that more than half of the states require no permit for open carry and I do not believe that in a second.

If you look at the opposition being mounted against campus carry and parking lot efforts, it appears that "roberts" has a point. How much support for do you think you would find among the soccer moms at a Chuck-E-Cheese's or in the UT faculty lounge; most of those people would be "packing" a TX drivers license. Unfortunately there ARE many Texans who are anti-gun, too many IMO, but that's the way it is. The more people who move here from certain other states (e.g. CA, NY) the worse that sentiment will become. Sorry.
