9mm most of the time, but I do carry the 45 from time to time.

Across the board, for gun owners in general, and probably CHL holders in general, .38SPL and 9mm would probably be as popular as anything.
But I think most of the regulars on this site are firearms enthusiasts. And enthusiasts tend to prefer MORE POWER!

As I stated earlier my personal preference is the SA 1911 in .45 but thats only cause they dont make a .46

My kimber goes with me I'd say 70% of the time. The other 30% is my LCP in .380.

It's almost even between .45 and .38+P, but slightly in favor of .45 ACP. On rare occasions I will carry 9x18.

I am also surprised to see .45 in the lead, but I think it must reflect the membership of this forum and not CHL holders in general.
Everyone I know personally who carries is carrying either a 9mm or .380, with the exception of one person. I suspect it would be neck and neck 9mm and .380, with .45 and .40 tied for third place, if you were to poll a broad selection of CHL holders regardless of forum affiliation.

I take a .380 to work and it hides in my car.
If I leave the house after work or the weekend I CARRY .40 cal weapons only. So I put .40 as my main carry.
