2) Continuing on the 5 year old mentality of "but THEY did THIS!", what part of anything a previous administration did excuses the decisions made by the current ones. I think I'm going to run for office, take some insanely stupid stance on an issue, then retort with "Well, LINCOLN suspended HABEUS CORPUS!" It seems to have been working for the big O.

Whats that about those who fail to read their history are doomed to repeat it? i cant remember. It must be my 5 year old mentality

There's a distinct difference between reading history and blaming history for current decisions.

Than you apparently interpret some folks derision of Bush/Cheney as a knee-jerk response of support for Obama/Biden. It has nothing to do with the present administration. After 6 months in office I already knew that I despised the Bush/Cheney administration. They earned my scorn on their own without any help from the present Administration.
On the other hand, Obama/Biden had earned my scorn prior to taking office and have done nothing to change my opinion.

I too believe in looking at history, but I recognize that it is simply as valuable as experience is to the old and the wise. It is only as useful as you make it. The problem arises when folks look at history and take it out of context or use it as a logical fallacy to explain away a position.

EDIT: In order to clarify, I don't blame Bush for anything to do with this present administration. I only blame him for what he did during his. The present administration has only themselves to blame.

Whatever happened to, "the devil made me do it"? That was as good of an excuse as any.

I had to vote McCain/Palin as the lesser of two evils. Unfortunately, most of our presidential candidates have fallen into that category since after Reagan.

I don't reckon I'll ever understand what or where Obama had more experience and/or qualifications than Palin? I will concede that Obama had better speech writers than the other folk.

Oh well, what's done is done and we all have to live with it at least until 2012.

How much experience do we want our politicians to have? From another thread, it sounds like at least a few of us are opposed to professional politicians, on the other hand we're weary of a lack of experience.

All of the experience in the world doesn't mean diddly if the policies that arise from it are contrary to mine.

That seems logical to me. I never said I supported what Bush/Cheney did either. Just think its insane to blame them for current problems/decisions made by Obama.

Obama himself does this. Most of his speeches allude to all the problems he "inherited". Yeah, he didn't vote for any of those economic problems he's blaming Bush for now, right?
