I thought you said "all jocularity aside" :totap: ...............:

This is something that happens far more than many may realize. I personally know of folks who carry without CHL.I have made the suggestion they get legal and they always reply with a half hearted "Yeah, I should get mine" or something of that nature. Many folks don't see the need in getting licensed. I used to be one of them. It was a habit i developed from the days before the CHL. I carried under the philosophy that if a firearm is needed, I would rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6. One thing it does, is instill a certain hesitancy to go for a gun. Knowing, the break glass in case of emergency can send you to jail, causes one to be darned sure it is an emergency.

Anyway...purplehood is right....you have no way of knowing what is what with the other guy. Assuming he is somehow legal as you are may get you into some trouble. I really think MYOB applies here. If I don't know the guy, I tend to hesitate about giving advise. :cheers2:

That's pretty good , I like that one . :thumbs2:

Personally , I wouldn't hesitate (discretely) letting someone know their gun was showing in public.
I would hope they would do the same for me. ;-)

One has to wonder why a fellow male would be looking in the area of ones fly. I am afraid I have to let that one go as well. :totap:

You fellers do realize to be charged with failure to conceal it must be intentional ? You won't get arrested for a shirt accidentally hiking up and exposing your weapon. You also will not be arrested for printing. You may have to show the officer your CHL....that is in the extremely rare chance an officer even sees it. Civilians mostly figure your a cop if they see your weapon. I was carrying concealed at Collin Creek Mall and was getting fitted for a TUX. Just before the dude measured my waste I remembered my gun. I reached out and stopped his hand and ask if I could borrow the dressing room. I took my daughters purse and put my weapon in it while he measured me. He asked my daughter if there was a problem and she said, in all her adorable innocence, he has a gun. Growing up around guns, she thinks nothing of it and forgets that many folks freak over guns....even some in this forum...LOL. Anyway....the guy asked me if I was an off duty cop or a commissioned security guard. I replied, neither, I posses a CHL. I could tell he had no idea what that was but I let it go and he quit asking. Got measured and went on my way. Point is....most people don't give it a second thought as long as your a clean cut looking person and not wearing a hoody. They just figure your some kind of law enforcement. Very very few folks even know there is a permit to carry a concealed weapon. I would bet MOST folks don't know it.

We might be worrying way too much about the "showing" / "printing" issues. Most of our fellow citizens are clueless as they wonder through the day. They just aren't looking for these kinds of things. That is why I just blow it off, other than to keep an eye on you, if I see a person carrying an exposed concealed weapon.

It would be funny to scream as loud as you can... "OH MY GAWD....HE"S GOT A GUN."...in a terrified voice, as you point at him and back away quickly. :smilelol5:

If the guy that was refered to by thje OP was an LEO, he was under no obligation to carry concealed.

And that is my point...you don't know what category the fella is. LEO, CHL, Gang-banger, whatever...

Had my cover jacket blow up over my Kahr one afternoon on the way into Target picking up wifes scrips. I like to wear a light jacket with a split zipper to allow easier access and had unfortunately not pulled the zipper back down enough for the 30+mph gusts that day. I simply flipped the hem and brought the zipper down a couple of inches.

There was a lady going past to that side never once did she even look up from her "crackberry". People are oblivious most of the time.
