TXI, I have much respect for you, but that was a little over the top. You are free to believe what you want, but so is everybody else. Thats the beauty of America.
There's a lot to be said of this topic, and I typed out a lengthy response. However - what I wanted to convey can be shortened quite a bit.
Everyone has the right to believe in what they want. Nobody can force their beliefs on other people. Who am I to tell you, TXI, that you have it all wrong, and that you are going to burn for it?(I don't think that, but for illustrative purposes...). While I am entitled to my opinions, for me to try to force it upon you, is wrong. I don't care if you believe in God, Buddha, Jehovah, Shiva, Nirvanna, or the Holy Grail - its wrong. Just like murder is wrong - period.
I think religion can be a wonderful and a horrible thing. It brings people to fighting just as much as it brings them together. However - one thing that nobody can argue without bringing in abstractions and generalizations - religion is a personal, individual experience that is up to each individual to make their own decisions on. Just as it is an individuals choice to practice the rights given to you by the Second Amendment. If you don't want folks to bash you for being a conscious, responsible adult who cares for his own safety and the safety of others, why would you make negative comments about someone's religion? Its not hurting you.
I say leave it all be. We all believe what we believe and very few will ever budge from that. Respect eachother and it tends to work out in the long run.
